Verdicts and Settlements:

  • Some noteworthy cases in which Mr. Breedlove was designated as co-lead counsel in class actions and complex litigation are Loudermilk Services, Inc., et al. v. Marathon Petroleum Company L.L.C., et al. (Case No. 3:04-0966), a class action case in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia which resulted in a statewide settlement for owners of underground storage tanks for damages caused by bad gasoline; Chamberlain v. Ford Motor Company (Case No. C 03 2628 CW), a class-action case in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California which resulted in a national class-action settlement regarding defective manifolds in Ford automobiles; Bobby Grimes, et al. v. Gulf Telephone (Case No. 99-986-RV-C) complex litigation in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama resulting in a class-wide settlement for employees of Gulf Telephone Company; Donald Bettner, et al. v. Georgia Pacific (Case No. CV-95-333), class-action case in the Circuit Court of Mobile County involving hardboard siding resulting in a national settlement; and the Amtrak "Sunset Limited" train crash in Mobile (MDL 1003, Master Docket No. 94- 5000-RV-C), the worst passenger railway disaster in U.S. history in which Mr. Breedlove served as co-lead counsel for all 247 victims and their families.  The following language is required by Alabama Rules of Professional Conduct: "These recoveries and testimonials are not an indication of future results. Every case is different, and regardless of what friends, family, or other individuals may say about what a case is worth, each case must be evaluated on its own facts and circumstances as they apply to the law. Educational Background:

  • Mr. Breedlove received his B.S. in 1976 from Auburn University and graduated with high honors from the Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in 1979. During law school, he was a member of the Cumberland Trial Advocacy Board and served as an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy.
