Ed Howard customarily defends individuals, businesses and governmental entities in state and federal court in north Alabama, concentrating on civil rights, municipal defense and insurance defense. He also occasionally represents plaintiffs. He handles trials and appeals, and speaks at seminars on police and governmental liability in Alabama. Ed holds undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Alabama. A member of the Alabama Association of Municipal Attorneys and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, he serves on the Bar’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. Ed is married to Elizabeth Howard (J.D., 1991, Georgetown University Law Center). They have one son, Teddy.
