Profile
Jamie’s trial practice has been focused in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, breach of contract, medical malpractice, product liability, intellectual property, class actions, as well as qui tam litigation under the Federal False Claims Act. In his first few years at Hare Wynn, Jamie tried several jury cases to verdict, obtaining favorable results for his clients in a variety of matters. He has also argued countless motions and handled appeals before a variety of courts, from oral argument before the federal court for the Southern District of New York, to oral argument before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
In the past few years, Jamie has concentrated on litigating and trying significant cases to verdict. In 2011, he tried a three week complex aviation case in federal court and achieved a record verdict in a dram shop case in state court.
As co-lead counsel, Jamie obtained a $37.5 million verdict in Madison County, Alabama, making The National Law Journal's Top 100 Verdict list for 2011 (publication forthcoming). The verdict, which consisted of only punitive damages, was significant in several respects, but for also setting the record verdict in that County, which was previously less than $10 million.
