Clare Abel has been a shareholder with the firm since 1986. She concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of Real Estate, Zoning and Condemnation Law. She also has done substantial work in the area of Administrative Law, specifically liquor licensing matters. Her recent real estate experience includes: (A) Representation of national homebuilders in land use General Plan Amendments, zoning, and subdivision of land as well as negotiation of private and public development agreements, preparation of deed restrictions and creation of homeowners associations. (B) Representation of land owners in connection with development of commercial, office and industrial projects including assembly, rezoning and subdivision of large tracts of land. (C) Representation of national retail and restaurant operators in purchasing liquor licenses, processing liquor license applications and appearing at public hearings on liquor license issues. (D) Representation of land owners in negotiating public and private easements, development agreements, purchase and sale matters, and related real estate documents. (E) Representation of private land owners in real estate valuation litigation including condemnation and property tax appeals. Ms. Abel has lectured on L.E.E.D. certification for the Primerus Business Law Institute, Specialty Leasing Issues for Restaurants for CLE International, on planning law for the National Business Institute Arizona Land Use Seminar and for the Arizona Planning Association on The Constitutional Basis for Land Use Regulation. Ms. Abel is certified as a specialist in Real Estate Law by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. She is accredited as a LEED Green Associate by teh US Green Building council. She graduated from Arizona State University Law School in 1981 and was admitted to the Arizona Bar in 1981 and the U.S. District Court, District of Arizona in 1981. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University graduating with High Honors in 1977. She is a member of the American Bar Association; Maricopa County Bar Association; State Bar of Arizona; Section of Real Property Law; Arizona Bar Foundation, Fellow; Home Builders Association of Central Arizona; Arizona Planning Association; Junior League of Phoenix. She was a Founding Director, President and Secretary of the Board of Directors, Self-Employment Loan Fund, Inc., and has served on the Arizona State University, College of Law Alumni Association, Board of Directors, and the O.K. Community Inc., Board of Directors.
