Paul E. Burns concentrates his practice on intellectual property and technology-related litigation, transactions, and counseling, as well as commercial litigation, electronic discovery, contract negotiation, arbitration and mediation. Mr. Burns has been selected for Best Lawyers in America 2007-2012 and Super Lawyers 2007-2010, and has a Martindale-Hubbell AV rating. He is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law teaching Patent Litigation, Biotechnology Licensing & Litigation and Electronic Discovery & Digital Evidence. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Pepprdine University School of Law's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution ranked No. 1 by U.S. News & World Report for AAlternative Dispute Resolution. He is a Director of the Federal Bar Association's Phoenix Chapter and served as its President. He served as Chair of the ADR Committee and been an appointed member of the Professionalism & Ethics Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He has also been a Chapter Chair for The Licensing Executives Society and The Copyright Society of the USA, and served for two years as the Chair of the State Bar of Arizona's Intellectual Property Law Section. He presently serves as Pro Bono General Counsel for The Sedona Conference. Mr. Burns is a frequent speaker at national and local programs, institutions and organizations on patent, copyright and other intellectual property law issues, electronic discovery, arbitration and mediation.
