Profile

Doug Norwood is a founding partner of Norwood & Norwood, P.A., an Arkansas law firm with offices in Fayetteville, Rogers, Bentonville and Springdale and a practice dedicated exclusively to criminal defense and civil rights cases. Doug is a 1987 graduate of University of Arkansas Law School who began his career as a deputy prosecutor. In private practice, Doug has used his experience and insights on prosecutorial strategies to successfully defend more than 10,000 clients against all types of felony and misdemeanor charges, including DWI, assault, battery, theft, drug possession, drug distribution, burglary, robbery and rape. He has also represented countless clients in administrative driver’s license suspension and reinstatement hearings.

Doug’s skills and success as a criminal defense attorney have not gone unnoticed by his peers in the legal community. He has been recognized as one of the "Best Criminal Defense" and "DWI Defense Lawyers" in the state by Arkansas Times magazine. Doug has also: been selected for inclusion in the Mid-South Super Lawyers listings on multiple occasions; received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell; and, is a past president of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (2007-2008).
