In the courtroom, Mike Kelly and Doris Cheng obtained a verdict for $9.4 million on behalf of a Sonoma County laborer, earning them nominations as finalists for SFTLA’s “Trial Lawyer of the Year” award. Rich Schoenberger and Doris Cheng concluded a multimillion-dollar settlement against the Archdiocese of San Diego on behalf of sexual abuse victims; Douglas Saeltzer and Rich Schoenberger concluded a $6 million workplace injury claim for a brain-damaged contractor in San Francisco Superior Court; Matthew Davis settled a statewide class action on behalf of more than one and a half million eyewear consumers against Lenscrafters; and Paul Melodia concluded one of the largest birth injury cases in recent history against Kaiser HMO. Dan Kelly was again honored as one of Northern California’s top mediators. And we are extremely proud of our partners who directed and staffed a three-day pro bono litigation skills training camp for San Francisco juvenile defenders and child advocates, earning an award of merit from the San Francisco Bar Association.
