Daniel Shanfield successfully defends immigrants and their families in some of the most difficult criminal immigration, political asylum, citizenship and family visa cases. He has saved from deportation clients with crimes ranging from felony controlled substance convictions to domestic violence charges to felony welfare fraud. A graduate of UC Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law, Daniel is a former INS trial litigator and clinical law professor at New York Law School. He previously served as migration adviser to the UN and supervised immigration defense with the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights. Daniel is a member of the Legal Advisory Board of the Stanford Law School Immigrants' Rights Clinic, and an asylum law mentor for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights in San Francisco.  His uncommon insight and tenacity are the critical difference behind his clients' success.
