Mr. Nelson specializes in personal injury with over 40 years of trial experience in state and federal courts. Mr. Nelson directs the firm’s cases involving personal injury and death claims, including motor vehicle, construction, governmental, homeowner, and products liability cases. He is responsible for major jury verdicts and tort recovery for clients of the firm, including substantial awards in Stanislaus County and in venues throughout California. Mr. Nelson graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. degree in 1964. He received his J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in 1967. He was selected as a member of the Thurston Society for scholastic achievement at Hastings and was also selected for the Editorial Board of the Hastings Law Journal. Mr. Nelson completed the training in Mediation through the Pepperdine University School of Law and has served for several years as a mediator/arbitrator for the Stanislaus County Superior Court and in private mediations. He is also a member of the ADR Committee for the Stanislaus County Superior Court. Mr. Nelson was born and raised in the Modesto area. He served in the U.S. Navy as a legal officer in the Western Pacific and as a legal advisor with the U.S. Naval Advisory Group, Vietnam, 1968-71. Mr. Nelson returned to his native community of Modesto in 1971 and joined the firm.
