Lynda Won-Chung is a Of Counsel at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewey LLP specializing in immigration law for over 25 years in the Silicon Valley area. She was admitted to the California Bar in 1984 and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Won-Chung received her undergraduate education at California State University, San Jose, graduating with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. She obtained her legal education at the University of California’s Hastings College of the Law, receiving a Juris Doctor degree in 1983.
She has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer for seven years in a row from 2005 through 2011 by Law & Politics Magazine, an industry wide poll which identifies by peer review the top 5% of attorneys in their field. In 2007 and 2009, she was also recognized by Law Business Research Ltd. as one of California’s leading practitioners in its Who’s Who Legal publication.
In 1984, she opened a satellite branch office of a major San Francisco immigration law firm when the INS (now USCIS) opened their office in San Jose, California; she later opened her own office and managed an employment-based immigration law practice which grew from 35 to 90 employees in eighteen months. During this time, she represented hospitals, start-up and Fortune 500 bio-tech and high-technology companies, artists, athletes, and professors/teachers. In 2004, she opened Minami Tamaki's South Bay office in Sunnyvale, California.
She has gained superb expertise in employment based non-immigrant and immigrant processing, in guiding and providing creative solutions to employers, in strategic planning during times of up-sizing and down-sizing, developing and managing innovative immigration programs and policies for both small and large companies, and advising on mergers and acquisitions issues. She had guided and represented a company through a LCA (labor condition application audit) with the Department of Labor and performed I-9 audits for employers.
Throughout her practice, Ms. Won-Chung has devoted time to education and training and has managed, mentored and trained attorneys, paralegals, taught law students, created, developed and provided training/seminars to HR personnel, hiring managers and foreign nationals, and has spoken at numerous seminars including HR Conferences, Relocation, Immigration and Export Control Conferences, the Chamber of Commerce, and AILA. She is also the Founder and President of Inspiration Opportunities for Youth and Seniors (IOYS), a small non-profit based foundation providing grants to non-profit organizations servicing the senior and/or youth communities.
