Mark E. Ellis, a former judicial law clerk at an appellate court, is an active trial attorney whose practice emphasizes professional malpractice,  class action, and other complex business/commercial litigation. He has tried  or arbitrated more than 60 cases to verdict or final judment, winning more than 90%. His practice emphasizes many areas of litigation but he is perhaps best known for his defense of  professionals, especially lawyers and law firms, who have been sued under a variety of theories including for malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, malicious prosecution,  violation of civil rights ,as well as under other stautory claims such as for violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Mr Ellis  also consults with clients as to ethics matters and ethical best practices, and he represents  lawyer clients before the California State Bar.Mr Ellis, founded ECPLS, LLP in 2006 and the firm has grown tremendously since that time. The firm's attorneys litigate in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Mr Ellis serves as the firm's managing partner.A native Virginian, Ellis graduated from the College of William and Mary, and continues to pursue an interest in the Civil War history, an interest he developed as a boy growing up in an area (Fredericksburg, Va) surrounded by  numerous battlefields.
