Matthew D. Davis is a member of Walkup, Melodia, Kelly & Schoenberger, a San Francisco-based law firm dedicated to representing injured plaintiffs in California personal injury and wrongful death cases and in cases filed in other jurisdictions as well. Upon graduating from University of California Hastings College of the Law, Matthew was recruited by the San Francisco city attorney's office, where he later prosecuted a number of groundbreaking consumer protection lawsuits, including one in which Bank of America was accused of mishandling government bond funds. That case settled for $187 million.
Matthew has also been responsible for several high-profile verdicts and settlements during his career at Walkup. Most recently, together with John Echeverria, he successfully tried a class action lawsuit on behalf of more than 1,000 Hilton Hotel guests who contracted viral gastroenteritis, in which the jury awarded compensatory and punitive damages in excess of $25 million. Matthew's experience also encompasses a wide range of other cases and issues, including motor vehicle negligence claims, public transportation accidents, property owner negligence, medical malpractice, product liability law, civil rights-related lawsuits and mass torts.
