Paul L. Hickman is the founding partner of Technology & Intellectual Property Strategies Group PC (dba TIPS Group), a technology law firm based in Palo Alto, California. His practice includes patent and trademark prosecution and IP counseling, licensing and litigation. He obtained his A.B. degree from Stanford University in 1975 and thereafter obtained a degree in electrical engineering from San Jose State University and his J.D. degree from Santa Clara University. Mr. Hickman served as the President of the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association (SVIPLA) from 2002-2003, was an Adjunct Professor of IP Law at the Peninsula University School of Law from 1986-1999, was an Instructor of IP Law at the Santa Clara University Institute for Paralegal Studies from 1987-1998 and became a CPVA faculty member in 2011.
