Attorney Phillip R. Weltin is the founder of Weltin Law Offices, P.C., in Oakland, California. He has been serving clients throughout the surrounding communities for near 40 years as a trial attorney in the areas of maritime law, product liability, employment law, insurance/bad faith law and personal injury.
Before going into private practice in 1972, Mr. Weltin received his undergraduate degree, with honors, from San Jose State University. He went on to obtain his J.D. from Golden Gate University. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Navy Submarine Service onboard the "Tang" SS-563.
Mr. Weltin is well known in the Bay Area for his trial work and is recognized for his representation in Mendoza v. Brodeur, 142 Cal. App. 4th 72 (2006), Springmeyer v. Ford Motor Co., 60 Cal. App. 4th 1541 (1998), Olson v. American Bankers Ins. Co., 30 Cal. App. 4th 816 (1996), Avery v. United States, 829 F.2d 817 (9th Cir. 1987), Dugas v. C. Brewer & Co., Ltd., 165 Cal. App. 3d 203 (1985) and Perry v. Heckler, 722 F.2d 461 (9th Cir. 1983).
