Profile

Before he founded Quintero Family Law Services in Redwood City, California, in 1996 to offer legal representation to Bay Area residents exclusively in family law, Salomon Quintero worked as a trial attorney in civil and business litigation. By handling a mix of family law, real estate and civil litigation cases in his early years as an attorney, Mr. Quintero became knowledgeable in areas of the law that he now uses to assist his clients in a broad range of family law matters, including complex real property division, domestic violence, child support, jurisdictional issues and custody disputes.

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts, Mr. Quintero remained at the university to attend law school, from which he graduated with his law degree in 1972. He then worked as a junior partner at a prominent area firm before co-founding a multidisciplinary firm in the 1980s. In addition to his practice, Mr. Quintero has served as a judge pro tempore at the San Mateo County Superior Court as well as an arbitrator in the court's judicial arbitration and attorney fee dispute programs.

In 1980, Mr. Quintero was one of the first attorneys in the state to earn certification as a specialist in family law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. The rigorous certification process requires applicants to demonstrate their broad-ranging knowledge and experience in addition to passing an examination.

Frequently called upon by professional and community organizations to lecture and give presentations on family law and constitutional law, Mr. Quintero has published numerous articles on domestic violence, divorce, custody and other family law issues. To more readily serve the needs of clients in the community, he is fluent in Spanish.
