Intense, experienced and personable. Those are qualities my clients appreciate. After 25 years of law practice, I limit my plaintiff's personal injury practice to cases involving significant or catastrophic injuries, such as spinal injuries, brain damage, loss of limbs, burn injuries and wrongful death. I also limit the number of cases that I handle each year so that I can give personal and thorough attention to the needs of my clients. I invariably develop a close working relationship with my clients and their families. If I accept a plaintiff's personal injury case, it is because I have confidence that I can secure a successful outcome for the client. I litigate cases throughout California, in both state and federal courts. I also have extensive appellate experience, including many published opinions.
I am certified as a specialist in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Most of my clients are referred by other attorneys who recognize my abilities to creatively and aggressively represent clients. Upon successful resolution of a client's case, I will provide an appropriate referral fee to the referring attorney.
I also represent ski areas in defense of personal injury and business litigation claims, churches, and small businesses in litigation matters. I have resolved a number of intractible conflicts for individuals and businesses through creative litigation.
I am trained as a Mediator by Pepperdine University School of Law's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and I have 20 years of mediation experience. See my mediation website, www.calmediator.com.
