The immigration expert
Passion and dedication, along with an ability to apply complex laws to life-changing situations, have been the hallmarks of Alejandro “Alex” Campillo’s 30-year career as a nationally recognized immigration lawyer.
After graduating from Stanford University, Campillo worked on immigration reform in President Jimmy Carter’s administration. In 1980, he graduated from the USD School of Law. Recognized nationally for excellence in immigration litigation and business visa transactional matters, he was among the first to be certified as a specialist in immigration and nationality law by the California Bar.
His litigation practice is national in scope and has recently involved success in major NAFTA-related transportation matters and in defending employers faced with employer sanction actions.
His global business visa practice serves investors, scientists, professionals and multinational corporations.
Balancing advanced litigation and transactional matters, he calls his practice “unbelievably satisfying.” His other passions include economic development in his home town of Calexico, and African safaris with his sons, one a wildlife biologist and one now enrolled in Harvard Law School.
