Profile

Robert M. Howard handles criminal, civil, and regulatory environmental cases across the country. He co-chairs Latham & Watkins' Mass Torts and Product Liability and Environmental Litigation Practice Groups. He also chairs the San Diego Environment, Land, and Resources Department. He has served as trial counsel in high-profile environmental cases. A graduate of Duke Law School and former editor of the Duke Law Journal, he speaks regularly at law schools. His scholarly articles have been cited by state supreme courts and federal courts. He clerked for Judge Jerry E. Smith on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a retired Marine Corps officer.
