Avery Cooper has been an attorney for over 30 years. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and, limits his practice to the areas of family law and trusts and estates, primarily handling complex marital and non-marital estates. Avery is a former President of the Santa Monica Bar Association and a former Chairman of the Family Law Section of the Santa Monica Bar. Avery has been appointed by the probate court on numerous occasions to represent proposed conservatees in conservatorship matters and, by the family court to report to the court as minor’s counsel on cases involving high-conflict custody disputes. Avery has also been appointed as a mediator by the court in both matrimonial and trusts and estates matters. His style of representation is to first try to negotiate or mediate a settlement of the matter. Whether or not that is not possible, his extensive litigation experience always proves invaluable.
