Douglas D. Shaffer has been actively practicing in complex litigation cases since 1984.  Having graduated magna cum laude from law school, he began his career working with such prestigious firms as O'Melveny and Myers (whose chairman was former Secretary of State Warren Christopher).

Beginning in 1990, Mr. Shaffer and his law practice focused exclusively on the REPRESENTATION OF PLAINTIFFS– those people and their families who have been wrongfully denied their insurance benefits, had a loved one suffer a fatality, or themselves suffered major injuries- such as paralysis, brain injures, serious orthopedic injuries or otherwise been victimized.    The cases Mr. Shaffer agrees to handle are frequently complicated, and often involve fighting powerful businesses or corporations for clients who have catastrophic injuries. Mr. Shaffer is active in the community, donates to many charities, and has volunteered to coach his childrens' youth basketball and football over 10 times. He has travelled extensively for business and pleasure. He completed the Tour of France in 2004, the Tour of Italy in 2009, and recently competed in the Alcatraz and Malibu Triathlons.
