Frank A. Magnanimo, a founding partner of Magnanimo & Dean, LLP, is an experienced attorney, who has successfully litigated numerous employment cases for both employers and employees, including cases involving retaliation, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, employment discrimination, harassment and hostile work environment (including claims based on race, gender, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, mental and physical disability, age and religion), wage-and-hour violations, whistleblowing, violation of the Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act and/or Pregnancy Disability Leave Act, defamation and fraud. Mr. Magnanimo’s proven successes include jury trials, arbitrations and mediations. In 2011, Mr. Magnanimo was recognized as a Southern California SuperLawyer in the Labor and Employment field.

Prior to forming Magnanimo & Dean, LLP, Mr. Magnanimo was a founding partner at Appleton, Magnanimo  & Dean, LLP. Mr. Magnanimo has also worked at the law firms of Goldstein, Kennedy & Petito, Landegger & Baron and Bragg Serota & Kuluva, where his practice was devoted entirely to representing and advising employers.  In 2003, Mr. Magnanimo was a founding partner of Appleton, Blady & Magnanimo, LLP, where he expanded his practice to include representation of employees in employment matters.

Mr. Magnanimo is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, and is an active member of the California Employment Lawyers’ Association, an organization dedicated to protecting the rights of employees in California.  Mr. Magnanimo is a member of the California State Bar and is licensed to practice before the courts of California; the U.S. District Court for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Judicial Circuit. Mr. Magnanimo served on the Editorial Advisory Board for Litigating Sexual Harassment and Sex Discrimination Cases: A Task Outline, Dolores Y. Leal (1996).  Mr. Magnanimo also is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Mr. Magnanimo attended college at the University of Southern California, where he double majored and obtained degrees in Political Science and Classics. Mr. Magnanimo is a 1994 graduate of the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, where he served as a Note and Comment Editor on the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law.
