Patrick E. Bailey is the Firm’s Founding Partner and is one of the Firm’s principal trial lawyers.  Since commencing his practice in 1979 he has accumulated a substantial number of successful jury verdicts and settlements in both national and international forums involving aviation accidents, product liability, pharmaceutical cases, insurance bad faith and business fraud cases, including a recent $42 million award in a commercial litigation dispute and a $12 million verdict in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by his client, a former North American Airlines Captain. Mr. Bailey is an active member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for all Districts of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court.  He has also practiced Pro Hac Vice in the States of Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Texas and Montana. Mr. Bailey is also a member of ABOTA.  He has an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell – the highest rating the organization offers its members and he is an active member in many other aviation related organizations such as Women In Aviation, Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association, CFI-AIM, and Aviation Insurance Association where he is an active board member. In addition to his active trial practice, Mr. Bailey owns a Cessna 310, has been flying for over thirty years and he is a certificated flight instructor as well as being certified to fly seaplanes and helicopters.  He is also an Adjunct Professor of law at California State University, Los Angeles, where he teaches Aviation Law. Mr. Bailey also serves as General Counsel to and Secretary of Santa Monica, California’s Museum of Flying, and is a member of its Board of Directors.
