Robert Mansell is the founder and principal attorney of Mansell & Mansell, A.P.C., a Los Angeles, California, law firm dedicated solely to representing victims of personal injury and other civil wrongs. Since 1985, Mr. Mansell has handed many different types of cases, including plaintiff's claims that have involved automobile accidents, property owner negligence (premises liability law), defective products (product liability law), workplace and industrial accidents, insurance bad faith and civil fraud. He has also won a number of significant jury verdicts, including the first plaintiff's verdict in an air bag-induced injury case against an auto manufacturer, Bresnahan vs. Chrysler, (1995) 32 Cal.App.4th 1559, and 65 Cal.App.4th 1149.

Mr. Mansell graduated from the University of Oklahoma's College of Law in 1985, where he was on law review, and in 1987 he moved his law practice to Los Angeles. He remains licensed to practice law in both Oklahoma and California, and he has successfully tried numerous cases in both jurisdictions. Lastly, Mr. Mansell holds an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale Hubbell and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Justice, the Consumer Attorneys of California and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.

  • This article explored different issues regarding injuries which were caused by the deployment of air bags and the legal precedent which was established by Bresnahan v. Chrysler contrasted with the opposing case of Pruitt v. Verdicts and Settlements:

  • $641,000 recovered including 998 costs.  $565,000 jury verdict for the wrongful death of a 79 year old man survived only by his adult son.  The defendant was driving a produce delivery truck and denied that his truck struck the decedent.  Plaintiff had demanded $350,000 via a statutory offer and therefore  recovered prejudgment interest and additional costs totaling another $76,000., 1995
  • $1,275,000 jury verdict arising from a crane accident where a 9,000 load dropped onto a worker's heal.  The crane operator claimed that Plaintiff did not properly secure the load and that the accident was his own fault.  Defendant offered $150,000 and Plaintiff's emand was $1,000,000, 1998
  • $1,950,000 recovered for the wrongful death of a 80 year old man survived by his wife and two adult sons who was killed while crossing in an unmarked crosswalk., 2007
  • $750,000 recovered for a bicyclist that was struck by a limosine causing a compound fracture of the tibia and fibula., 2008
  • $875,000 recovered for a pedestrian who was struck while J-walking on a poorly lit street at night.  The 72 year old plaintiff suffered a back injury which caused him to use a cane while walking after the accident., 2009
  • $1,000,000 settlement.  Wrongful death of 29 year old single woman which was rear-ended by a truck on the freeway., 2010
