Attorney Steven Mark Sweat has been in the "business" of helping people in the Los Angeles area of Southern California for more than 18 years. Handling a wide range of legal issues for clients from all walks of life, Steven understands that for every problem, there is a solution. He specializes in finding those solutions and making people's lives better. He handles personal injury cases and related insurance claims involving accidents of every type, plaintiffs employment law claims (wrongful termination, discrimination, etc.), criminal charges, debt problems, and other matters.

Steven holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University (B.S., 1992) and earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law (J.D., 1995), where he also served as president of the school’s International Law Society. His professional honors include membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and awards for volunteer public service. He is also an active member of several legal organizations, including the Consumer Attorneys of California, the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America and the National Association for Civil Justice.

  • $435,000 settlement in an accident at an intersection in Los Angeles.  The accident involved a motorcyclist who was proceeding with the right of way when a driver attempted to make a left hand turn in front of the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to hit the passenger side of the car, wobble and go down.  The plaintiff severely injured her right knee which required surgery.  The defendant denied hitting the motorcyclist and hired accident reconstruction and "human factors" experts to try to give opinions about how the motorcycle driver could have "avoided" the accident.  Glotzer & Sweat, LLP did extensive private investigation and hired their own experts, including an accident reconstruction engineer, a biomechanical engineer, and medical experts to refute the claims of the defense.
