Profile

After graduating from Darmouth College, and serving in the Army, I attended Harvard Law School, receiving my JD in 1964.  I have practiced in Los Angeles since then.  I initially worked for the Los Angeles County Counsel's Office, and in 1966 went into private practice.  My then partner and I moved to Torrance in 1968, and I have practiced in the Del Amo Financial Center since then. In the late 1970's, I was the managing partner of Barrett, Stearns, Collins, Gleason & Kinney, a pre-eminent real estate firm.  During the 1980's,  I co-founded and was the managing partner of Burkley, Moore, Greenberg & Lyman, a Torrance law firm whose principal areas of practice included business and real estate transactions, as well as estate planning and probate.  During the 1990's I practiced "of counsel" with my original firm and later with Petillon & Hansen, a leading corporate securities firm.  I now a partner in Burkley & Brandlin LLP, where I emphasize succession and estate planning, and probate and trust litigation, in my practice.
