Profile

What started out as a one-desk shop founded by Michael S. Burg more than 30 years ago has grown into an exceptional-national law firm with more than 40 attorneys and 100 employees. The firm has offices in Colorado, Wyoming, Ohio, Texas, Arizona and Washington, D.C.

Burg Simpson is proud to announce that its peers have named Michael S. Burg, Peter W. Burg, Scott J. Eldredge and David P. Hersh to the Colorado Super Lawyers® list.

HISTORY OF PRIDE, RESULTS.

The scope of Burg Simpson’s trial practice is extensive, and the firm has particular expertise in commercial litigation, mass torts, medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury. The firm is equipped to handle complex litigation from inception through appeal.

“We’ve built an organization of significant talent and resources,” says Peter W. Burg. “We have many creative and skilled attorneys who are both passionate and compassionate about their clients and their work. We are proud of our history of trying cases and getting favorable results for clients. We are committed to being efficient, effective and ethical in pursuing zealous representation of our clients.”

meeting the challenge. Burg Simpson handles a wide variety of complex commercial litigation, personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Two areas in which the firm is at the forefront of national litigation include the Ortho Evra birth control patch and representation of clients who have developed nephrogenic systemic fibrosis as a result of exposure to gadolinium-based contrast dyes. Numerous Burg Simpson attorneys are dedicated to these matters and the firm is in national leadership positions pursuing claims on behalf of these clients. Recent medical malpractice cases involve representing the family of brain-damaged infants, as well as claims involving failure to diagnose heart attacks, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

According to Burg, the opportunity to represent clients who have been the victims of defective drugs and products, such as the Ortho Evra patch and gadolinium-based contrast dyes, presents a unique challenge on both personal and professional levels. “We’re given a chance to give victims a voice and improve their lives. Our work is about trying to make a positive difference.”

COMMUNITY.

The firm and its attorneys support a myriad of civic and charitable causes around Colorado and the country, including Craig Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Kaps for Kendall, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the American Transplant Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy and many others. They also contribute considerable time and talent to professional associations and pro bono representation.
