When Dan Reilly and Larry Pozner hand-picked 10 lawyers to launch a new firm in 2000, they envisioned diverse backgrounds and personalities united by a single focus: a love for litigation. Reilly’s personal injury trial experience on the plaintiff side, Pozner’s criminal defense trial expertise, and their joint experience in co-counseling complex commercial trials around the country formed the foundation for their firm.　 More than a decade later, the firm taps varied skill sets to handle every imaginable kind of legal challenge, from prevailing at trial in a dispute over the ownership of the Denver Broncos, to protecting the intellectual property of Fortune 500 companies, to spearheading nationwide residential loan repurchase litigation for Lehman Brothers.　 Pursuing excellence in an innovative culture, the 29-attorney firm has gained client trust and litigated complex cases in 40 states. "We are national counsel to a number of clients because that’s where our clients took us," says Reilly. "We now handle any type of case, any size, anywhere." Practice areas include complex civil and commercial litigation, class actions, criminal defense, dangerous medicines and products, personal injury and appellate practice.

Unusual for a firm its size because its practice is not pigeon-holed, Reilly Pozner sought breadth and depth from the outset. The firm consists of 29 attorneys, 11 paralegals and 25 support staff, all team players who respect each other, strive for top performance and thrive on their passion for trial work. Open-ended collaboration generates the best ideas, whether they come from lead counsel or a knowledgeable paralegal. "Because each case is unique, cookie-cutter approaches are unacceptable," Reilly says.
