As a partner with Chalat Hatten & Koupal, Denver, Colorado, Linda Chalat concentrates her practice on medical malpractice cases, defective product claims and recreational accidents. Prior to law school, Ms. Chalat worked in industry as a chemical engineer, and brings her understanding of the technical aspects of an accident to effectively advocate for her clients. Ms. Chalat also oversees the technology used by the firm to best serve our clients, including maintaining the firm's several websites, social media and blogs which provide current legal information for Colorado consumers and personal injury victims. She has published articles and spoken at professional seminars concerning ski litigation, attorney ethics and malpractice, and general practice tips.

- For four years, Linda served on the Jeffco School District Strategic Plan Advisory Council, chairing the committe for 2007-2008. Linda served two years as Secretary of the International Baccalaureate Parent Assoc., Lakewood Senior High School and the PTA Chair of the school's After Prom 2008 and 2009. For 2006 and 2007 she was an Attorney Coach, for the Evergreen High School Team, Mock Trial Program, which placed in the top five teams state wide in last year’s competition, and which EHS made into a varsity letter activity. She was appointed to the Citizen Review Committee, for the 2005/2006 Budget Development, Jeffco Public Schools. Linda has chaired the Mountain Area Forum, and the Bergen Leadership Councils; and she served as the co-president of Bergen Elementary Schools PTA.

Verdicts and Settlements:
- $325,000 Settlement for Hand Injury - Defective lab equipment injures lab tech, nearly amputating her hand. Manufacturer of equipment settles before trial., 2001
- $778,200 Damages for Loss of Arm - Defective design of ski resort "Magic Carpet" results in traumatic amputation of arm. During the trial, the parties reached a confidential settlement, 2003
- TBI Victim Suffers $1.1 Million Loss - Assistant principal at an Aurora middle school slipped in a puddle of glycol which had been leaking from the ceiling of a classroom. The glycol was leaking from a pipe in the ceiling, which had recently been installed as a part of a retrofit of the school’s entire HVAC system. Our client fell, striking her head first on the edge of a large, wooden teacher’s desk, and then on the tile floor. She suffered a traumatic brain injury. Claims were filed against the mechanical engineering firm who designed the HVAC system and the mechanical company who installed the system. The matter settled for a confidential amount weeks before trial., 2009
- Breast Cancer Cases - Ms. Chalat routinely reviews breast cancer cases, and has successfully represented victims of failure to diagnose and misdiagnosis. In each case, the claims were settled prior to trial with a very restrictive confidentiality clause, prohibiting publication of details of the claims.
