Profile

Since 1990, Mr. Glatstein has limited his practice to the areas of guardianship, conservatorship, wills and probate administration. Much of his practice is devoted to estate planning, powers of attorney, advance directives and health care related issues. He represents family members as well as several professional fiduciaries serving as guardians, conservators, trustees and personal representatives.  Mr. Glatstein also sits on two bio-ethics committees and consults for various hospice organizations on medical and end-of-life decisions.He is a frequent lecturer on elder law and probate topics including powers of attorney, advance directives, guardianship and conservatorship, Medicaid, exploitation of the elderly, and probate administration. His materials have been used in training and resource manuals by state and county adult protective services and law enforcement agencies, as well as numerous continuing legal education programs.Mr. Glatstein serves as adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he has developed and taught the Elder Law Curriculum.  His community efforts include chairing the Senior Law Day, co-sponsored by the University of Denver, the Colorado Bar Association and Denver Regional Council of Goverments.

Pro bono/Community Service: Chair, Civic and Community Affairs Committee, Colorado Bar Association, which is responsible for the Senior Law Handbook, a legal information and reference guide for older adults which is distributed throughout the state.  This Committee is also responsible for Senior Law Day, now celebrating its 10th year, a community education event hosted at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law., Mr. Glatstein is a charter member of the Denver Community Bioethics Committee, one of the few non-institutional community-based ethics committees in the country and has served as its chair. He is also a member of the Colorado Bar Association Committee on Advance Medical Directives and the Colorado Advance Directives Consortium working with members of the Colorado Medical Society, Denver Regional Council of Governments and Colorado Department of Health and Environment to make health care directives more user friendly and medically useful.
