Marco D. Chayet is a managing partner at Chayet & Danzo, LLC, in Denver, Colorado. Dedicated to protecting the rights of his clients, he concentrates on legal issues involving elder law, probate litigation, guardianships, conservatorships, estate planning and guardian ad litem work and public benefits. He has handled hundreds of probate cases and probate court appearances.
Mr. Chayet is involved in several professional associations. He served as chairman of the Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and chairman of the Guardianship and Conservatorship Standards Committee. He is a charter member of the Academy of Special Need Planners and chair surrogate of the Decision Making Committee for the American Bar Association. Mr. Chayet also served on various committees in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, including the Membership Committee, Practice Development Committee and Good and Welfare Committee.
Marco Chayet served as president of the Colorado chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and holds membership in the Colorado Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, Arapahoe County Bar Association and Brain Injury Association of Colorado. Further, he was selected by Colorado Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Elder Law in 2009 and 2010.
His extensive experience and knowledge in the area of elder law are demonstrated through his various written publications on the topic and public speaking appearances. Mr. Chayet has appeared on the Colorado television show "Senior Survival," is a frequent guest lecturer for the University of Denver College of Law Institute for Advanced Legal Studies and has spoken on various elder law topics for Continuing Legal Education International, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Colorado Bar Association.
A Denver native, Mr. Chayet is following in his family's footsteps by assisting various philanthropic and civic organizations in the community. These include the Guardianship Alliance of Colorado, Colorado Citizens for Accountability, Allied Jewish Apartments, Jewish Senior Recreation Network, the Foundation for Hope, the Life Source Services Hospice, Total Community Options Foundation and Metro Volunteer Lawyers.
