Mr. Mitchell has been in private practice in the Denver area since 1980. In 1997 he limited his practice to elder law: Medicaid planning, guardianships and conservatorships, probate, wills and trusts. He has received national certification as an elder law attorney from the National Elder Law Foundation. He was Co-Chair of the Colorado Bar Association from 2000-2002 and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. He has lectured on Medicaid, Medicaid planning and medical directives.He is also active in medical ethics, serving as a member of the Medical Ethics Committees at Health One Medical Center of Aurora and Sky Ridge Medical Center. He focuses on assisting elders and their families in planning for long term care including asset protection and Medicaid eligibility, wills and powers of attorney, and complex estate planning issues. He is also experienced in providing protection for incapacitated adults in need of a conservatorship or guardianship to keep them from being neglected, abused or exploited. Mr. Mitchell and his staff promote proactive planning for long term care needs. Since aging is something we all must face, it is good to know Mr. Mitchell stands ready to provide caring expertise for individuals to ensure that their personal wishes and needs are met during that time of life.
