Peter Burg's practice focuses on complex litigation in a wide range of substantive areas. Mr. Burg has developed a national reputation as a trial lawyer handling cases in the construction field, product liability, personal injury, and mass tort litigation.Mr. Burg also has substantial experience representing commercial clients in "bad faith" litigation, first-party property, arson, fraud, and other complex commercial matters. Many of Mr. Burg's recent practice activities have included brain trauma, construction defect, and product defect matters.Mr. Burg is a frequent lecturer and speaker within the legal community and the business community at large. Presentations have included topics such as:
Litigating Head Trauma Cases; Insurance Bad Faith; Fire, Fraud and Arson; and Managing Personal Injury Litigation. Mr. Burg was a contributing author to the book Litigating Head Trauma Cases. More recently, Mr. Burg was a presenter for Pharmaceutical Torts 101 at the Arapahoe County Bar Association and for the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations' CLE on Pharmaceutical Torts Cases in Colorado. Mr. Burg was recently was named to the Board of Directors for Craig Hospital and he is a member of the PUSH for a Cure Committee; Craig Hospital assists with research for traumatic brain injury patients.Mr. Burg recently argued before the Judicial Panel for Multi-District Litigation concerning consolidation and coordination of cases involving nephrogenic systemic fibrosis and gadolinium-based contrast dyes. Mr. Burg has now been appointed as Co-chair of the Plaintiffs' Steering Committee and the Executive Committee for the Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agents Product Liability Multi-District Litigation. Mr. Burg was appointed to these leadership positions by The Honorable Dan A. Polster, federal judge presiding over the Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agents Product Liability Multi-District Litigation in the Northern District of Ohio. The PSC reports directly to Judge Polster, and is responsible for conducting pre-trial proceedings on behalf of all plaintiffs who have cases in the MDL. Mr. Burg has also been elected Co-Chair of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Gadolinium Litigation Group. Mr. Burg was a presenter at the recent ABA Environmental, Mass Torts and Products Liability Seminar in Vail, Colorado (January 2009). The panel he participated in addressed the topic: Working with Experts 101-The Do's and Don'ts every Young Lawyer Should Know.Mr. Burg has achieved the highest rating from his peers for quality of legal work, professionalism, and ethics by receiving an "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Selected as a
Super Lawyer for 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, Mr. Burg has again been recognized as an exceptional attorney who has attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
