Mr. Thomas is board certified by the Florida Bar in the area of Labor and Employment Law and was a member of the Florida Bar Labor and Employment Law Board Certification Committee from 2000 through 2008. He was a faculty member of the Stetson University College of Law Employment Trial Skills Lawyers Program from 2000 through 2004. Mr. Thomas is Past President of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and a member and past President of the Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Mr. Thomas is also a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the Florida Bar where he served on the Executive Council from 2006 through 2008. Mr. Thomas was Chair of the Current Legal Developments Committee and Co-Chair of the Individual Rights Committee for the Labor and Employment Section. He was also a member of the Florida Bar 2001 Labor and Employment Law Certification Examination Grade Review Panel. Mr. Thomas has written numerous articles and has lectured extensively on employment law issues. Mr. Thomas received his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1977, where he was a member of the Law Review. After graduating from law school Mr. Thomas was employed as law clerk to the Honorable Paul Game, Jr., United States Magistrate Judge, Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division. After being employed for several years as the first Assistant Federal Public Defender for the Jacksonville Division of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, Mr. Thomas established his own firm. Mr. Thomas' firm limits its practice to the representation of employees in cases involving all aspects of labor and employment law and has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association and serves on its labor and employment law committee. He is currently serving on the SexualHarassment, Age Discrimination, Federal Employee, and Title VII Committees of the National Employment Lawyers Association. He is admitted to practice before all Florida Courts, the United States District Court, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Eleventh Circuit and Federal Circuits, The United States Claims Court and The United States Supreme Court. Mr. Thomas is listed in Best Lawyers in America, Who's Who in America, Who's Who In American Law, and the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
