Profile

Bruce Alexander Minnick was certified in 2003 by The Florida Bar as an expert in the area of Labor and Employment Law. Mr. Minnick has been involved heavily in labor and employment law litigation and appeals of employment law cases, primarily employment discrimination cases and other civil rights cases for over 29 years. In March 1981 Mr. Minnick was appointed to the position of assistant attorney general for the State of Florida by Attorney General Jim Smith. In addition to his responsibilities as an assistant attorney general, in January 1985 Mr. Minnick was dually appointed to the inaugural position of Chief Advocate for the State of Florida Commission on Ethics where he and his staff of trial attorneys prosecuted serious violations of the Florida Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees.  In January 1987 Mr. Minnick entered private practice as a partner in a Tallahassee litigation law firm known as Mang Rett & Minnick P.A.  There Mr. Minnick continued defending the State of Florida and her many state agencies, officials and employees in all manner of civil rights and employment discrimination cases, in the federal and state trial and appellate courts. Then in 1990 Mr. Minnick began taking on selected plaintiffs' cases even while continuing an active defense practice representing Florida. In December 1995 Mr. Minnick left the Mang Rett & Minnick  firm and chartered The Minnick Law Firm (MLF). Mr. Minnick has since employed and supervised at least twelve (12) trial attorneys and paralegal assistants at The Minnick Law Firm. MLF still practices heavily in the areas of labor law and employment discrimination (both plaintiff and management), civil trials, civil appeals, corporate general counsel, commercial banking, business litigation and several other fields. Mr. Minnick might be persuaded to take on a high-profile civil rights case or two from time-to-time if the case is an important one.  You may contact him at clients@minnicklaw.com
