Mr. Gibson is the founding member of GIBSON|LAW. Mr. Gibson has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry -- as a construction worker, as a hydraulic systems, controls and equipment technician, machinist and welder, as a professional engineer, and then as a Florida Board Certified Attorney in Construction Law. Mr. Gibson was formerly an Equity Partner in the Construction and Commercial Law Department of one of the largest law firms in the Nation. Mr. Gibson is an expert in Construction Law and he is one of only 150 attorneys of the over 84,000 attorneys in Florida that is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Construction Law. Mr. Gibson is one of only 18 attorneys of the over 84,000 attorneys in Florida that is also a licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical Engineer). Mr. Gibson's engineering experience includes working in the Power Plant Engineering and Design and Construction Departments for TECO Energy, one of the largest Public Utilities in Florida. Mr. Gibson worked on the design, construction, startup and commissioning of a number of TECO Energy's power plants and related buildings and structures, including coal and oil-fired units and gas turbines, as well as oil-to-coal conversion projects and fuel transportation, unloading and processing facilities, wet and dry flue gas desulfurization (FGD) equipment, and drywall / wallboard production projects. Mr. Gibson was one of the initial five people selected by TECO Energy to startup TECO Power Services -- TECO Energy's Alternative Energy, Cogeneration and Independent Power Production (IPP) Subsidiary. Mr. Gibson is one of only 30 of the over 84,000 Attorneys in Florida who is certified by the USGBC / GBCI (Green Building Certification Institute) as a LEED AP (LEED Accredited Professional). LEED AP's are building industry professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building and the LEED Green Building Rating System. The LEED AP credential indicates that the professional has the knowledge and skills to facilitate and advise clients about green building and the LEED Certification Process. Mr. Gibson is also a certified Structural Masonry Inspector. Mr. Gibson is a member of the Panel of Construction Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association, and he has been appointed to the AAA's Advisory Panel (Five Regional Members) for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.
