A twice Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer by the Florida Bar, Mr. Gordon is also certified as a Senior Counsel by the American College of Barristers.  He is admitted to the United Sates Supreme Court, the United States District Courts of the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the State Bar of Florida.  He is rated AV Pre-eminent by Martindale Hubbell, the highest rating an attorney can obtain in the areas of legal ability and ethical standards.  Mr. Gordon concentrates his practice in representing individuals who have been injured, and families whose relatives have been killed, as a result of medical malpractice, automobile negligence, security hazards, and defective products. Verdicts and Settlements: January 2010.  After multiple mediations, Mr. Gordon successfully obtained settlement from The Seminole Tribe on a negligent security claim.  This is the third such claim Mr. Gordon has resolved this year for assaults occuring at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino.  The Plaintiff sustained maxillo-facial fractures requiring multiple medical and dental surgeries.  During the first year of litigation in state court, The Tribe had asserted immunity., 2010, February 2009.  Attorney Jack Gordon successfully convinced the 5th District Court of Appeal in Daytona, Florida to reverse the Hernando County Circuit Court's judgment in an Eight Million Dollar ($8,000,000) commercial real estate case. The circuit court trial judge had ordered seizure of our client's 200-acre land development project.  The judgment caused title to the property to be transferred from our client to a Utah venture capital corporation. This appellate victory restores our client's ownership and control of this Eight Million Dollar ($8,000,000) land development project., June 2009. Four Hundred Thousand Dollar ($400,000) pre-trial settlement acheived for injured motorcyclist., June 2009.  Successfully obtained confidential six-figure pre-trial settlement amount in medical malpractice claim wherein hospital physicians wrongfully prescribed counter-indicated medications resulting in cognitive deficit. , January 2009.  Attorney Jack Gordon successfully settled a medical malpractice case involving gall bladder surgery for a confidential six-figure amount. Attorneys for the Defendant surgeon contested liability for nearly two years, arguing that injury to the biliary tract is a known complication of the procedure, that hospital personnel had properly informed our client of the risks, and that our client had provided her informed consent to the procedure. The claim was settled at mediation after Mr. Gordon provided a two-hour preview of his anticipated jury presentation. , September 2009.  Mr. Gordon successfully settled two negligent security claims against the Seminole Tribe on behalf of young men injured following assaults in the Hard Rock casino parking area.  The trial court entered an order in 2008 limiting the scope of discovery to the jurisdictional issue of whether the Tribe would be immune from suit in Circuit Court.  After eleven months of litigating the issues of soverign immunity and waiver, these cases settled for confidential amounts at mediation.
