John Patterson, a board certified civil trial lawyer, is a founding partner of the law firm of Balkan & Patterson. He’s been named to Who’s Who in American Law and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
His practice focuses on personal injury, auto accident, products liability, insurance litigation and class action cases. During his legal career, he has tried almost 100 jury trials, including wrongful death and medical malpractice cases. He has also held various leadership positions in numerous nationwide class actions. Most recently, he was named as a co-lead counsel in a nationwide false advertising claim against WM Wrigley Jr., Company.
Patterson is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a 1994 Nova Southeastern University law school graduate. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1994. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He was a member of and the chair of a Florida Bar grievance committee. He began his legal career as an assistant state attorney for the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Fla.
