Liah Catanese is a native of Atlanta, Georgia who spent over 10 years as a musical theatre actress and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Catanese began her career in the public sector where she served in the office of Senator Hillary Clinton in New York, working on immigration and refugee cases, and staffed gubernatorial and local political races in Michigan. Ms. Catanese also worked for the Immigrant Women Program of NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund in Washington, D.C., a position involving lobbying Congress on Capitol Hill to promote bills affecting immigrant rights. In the fall of 2004, Ms. Catanese began law school at the University of Miami where she was one of nineteen students in the state of Florida chosen as a Florida Bar Fellow. As a Fellow, Liah Catanese was assigned to The Lucha Project at Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (FIAC) in Miami. The Lucha Project provided legal assistance to victims of violent crimes and victims of human trafficking.  Out of the nineteen Fellows, Ms. Catanese was one of two students chosen to be a Florida Lawyers' Legal Insurance Corporation (FLLIC)-funded recipient.

During law school, Ms. Catanese accepted a position in the Community Health Rights Education Clinic where she assisted in drafting policies for the public school system and helped qualify underprivileged families for healthcare benefits. Ms. Catanese also served as the Vice President of Miami Law Women, and created and directed an Art Gala and Silent Auction to raise awareness and funding for girls living in the foster care system. That year, Ms. Catanese was awarded the UM H.O.P.E. Award for completing over seventy (70) hours of community service. In 2007, Liah Catanese graduated law school, Cum Laude, and joined the law firm of Alan Goldfarb, P.A.

As a practicing attorney, Ms. Catanese handles a variety of litigation, in state and federal court, including catastrophic personal injuries, wrongful death, premises liability, toxic-tort, construction accidents, products liability and maritime-related incidents.  Ms. Catanese continues her dedication to public interest work and utilizes her rich background in traveling and the arts to apply a creative approach to trial practice.
