Robert T. Bergin Jr. has been practicing civil trial law in the state of Florida since 1977. Born and raised in South Florida, Mr. Bergin graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School before attending the University of Florida. Upon graduating from law school, he went to work for a defense firm where he tried numerous cases as a young lawyer. His early experience was such that by the age of 29, he opened his own firm representing physicians in defense of medical malpractice action. He successfully defended a number of medical malpractice cases before severing his relationship with insurance carriers in the mid-1980s so that he could represent the interests of the injured and their families.
Mr. Bergin's practice today encompasses all aspects of civil litigation, including plaintiff's personal injury claims and business disputes. His primary emphasis is on representation of the seriously injured and their families. Mr. Bergin has been certified by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education as a specialist in civil trial law since 1983, the first year such certification was offered. He also holds an AV Preeminent* rating, the highest an attorney can achieve in the independent peer review rating process facilitated by Martindale-Hubbell.
