Tad A. Yates has practiced law in the communities of central Florida since 1994. Today, Tad's practice is dedicated almost exclusively to the defense of persons accused of misdemeanors and felonies of every type, including drug offenses, DUI, sex crimes, battery, theft, domestic violence-related charges, juvenile offenses, fraud charges and all traffic crimes. Tad also represents clients in appeals of criminal convictions and in Rule 3.850 Post-Conviction proceedings.

Tad has held leadership positions in a number of professional organizations and remains an actively involved member of the Florida Bar, the National and Florida Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Tad is the current President of the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association and a past-President of the Orange County Bar.  In addition to his inclusion in the Florida Super Lawyers listings, Tad has been selected multiple times by Florida Trend Magazine as one of "Florida's Legal Elite" in the area of criminal law, and he is rated AV Preeminent,* the highest rating an attorney can receive via the peer-review ratings process facilitated by Martindale-Hubbell.

In 2011, Florida Governor Rick Scott appointed Tad to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Ninth Judicial Circuit.
