Profile

Bill Amlong is an AV-rated* civil litigator of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and founding partner of The Amlong Firm. A dedicated trial advocate, he represents employees in all matters of labor and employment law and business litigation.

A former journalist, Mr. Amlong uses his investigative strengths, experienced trial skills and commitment to justice to advocate for the rights of employees who have suffered discrimination, harassment and other wrongs in the workplace. He is board certified by the Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education in civil trial law, business litigation, and labor and employment law.

Mr. Amlong has served in several leadership roles of organizations dedicated to protecting employee rights. He is a former president of the Florida chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) as well as a former national executive board member. He is also a former chairman of the Broward County Commission on the Status of Women, the only male chair ever.

Among other accomplishments, Mr. Amlong was instrumental in obtaining a successful verdict in the 1998 U.S. Supreme Court case Faragher v. City of Boca Raton, 524 U.S. 755, which resulted in legislation mandating harsher penalties for employers who fail to act in reported cases of harassment.
