When Ed Buckley and Dan Klein started talking about forming an employment law firm dedicated to the representation of employees, the two lawyers agreed on a single guiding principle: they would strive to be the best of their kind. Since then, they have represented employees at every level—from the mailroom to the executive suite—providing counsel and advocacy in complex negotiations, litigation, arbitration, trials and appeals.

As their practice grew, they brought in talent singular and unique in the Atlanta community. Buckley, Klein, John Beasley Jr. and Dena George were all named to the 2011 Georgia Super Lawyers® list. In addition, associates Cheryl Legare and Steven Wolfe have been recognized on the Rising Stars list. In the past year, the firm has also added associate Karyl Davis and Michael Kramer, of counsel. “Nothing we do here is accomplished by a single individual,” says Buckley. “We take a team approach to every matter.” The firm has garnered verdicts, judgments and settlements in the tens of millions of dollars.

Buckley & Klein represents employees in every category of discrimination claim. The firm prosecutes large-scale collective actions for overtime pay and also represents employees in sexual harassment, whistleblower, executive compensation and noncompete cases. “We come to work every day excited about what we do,” says Buckley, named to this year’s Top 10.
