Ed Henderson has handled catastrophic medical negligence and personal injury cases for 15 years. Initially, he represented product manufacturers, corporate defendants and insurance companies. Since 1998, Henderson has represented only patients and injured people in complex, catastrophic cases. Virtually all of his cases come to him as referrals from other lawyers.

“Tort reform has increased the likelihood that any given medical negligence case will go to trial,” notes Henderson. “Medical cases are difficult and expensive to litigate, and many lawyers are not comfortable taking on such cases. Yet, referral lawyers play a crucial role in the successful handling of cases because these lawyers generally have close relationships with the patients or their families.”

Henderson, who has been named to the Georgia Super Lawyers® list in 2007 and 2008, believes his success stems from his detailed knowledge of medicine, access to top medical experts, and his relationships with defense counsel, claims managers and risk managers. “I like to believe that clients and other attorneys involve me in cases because my voice is the proper voice to speak for them,” Henderson says. “If I do my job, I speak for my clients with the appropriate mix of authority, zeal and compassion, tempered with reason.”
