Profile

Allen F. Harris is a founding partner of Peterson & Harris, an Atlanta-based law firm dedicated solely to resolving family law and divorce-related matters. In a career spanning more than 25 years, Allen has gained a thorough understanding of the complex and sensitive issues family law cases often involve, and has extensive experience handling legal concerns related to child custody, child visitation, alimony, child support, property division and prenuptial agreements.

Allen graduated from Mercer School of Law with honors in 1985 and spent the first year of his legal career serving as a law clerk for judges on the South Georgia Judicial Circuit. After his clerkship ended, Allen took a position with an Atlanta insurance defense firm where he gained invaluable trial practice experience and knowledge.

Allen is honored to have received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating an attorney can achieve. He has also authored several articles on family law topics, is a frequently featured legal seminar speaker and remains an active member of several professional organizations, including the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Old Warhorse Lawyers Club, the Atlanta Bar Association (Family Law Section) and State Bar of Georgia (Family Law Section).

*AV Preeminent and BV Distinguished are certification marks of Reed Elsevier Properties Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell peer review ratings fall into two categories: legal ability and general ethical standards.
