Michael Abbott is a member in good standing of the State Bars of Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina and is currently inactive in Michigan. His practice continues to focus on representing individuals and corporations in white collar crime, in witness preparation and health care matters. Mr. Abbott was formerly Chief of the White Collar Crime Division at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta and is a former professor at the Emory University School of Law. Mr. Abbott is one of the few attorneys who have argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in both a civil and a criminal case, including winning the landmark case of Fuentes v. Shevin, striking down laws that did not provide 14th Amendment due process in forty-nine states. In addition to being listed in Georgia Super Lawyers, he has been named in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. He is a graduate of Duke University School of Law and the University of Wyoming.
