Charles Pursley's practice involves all areas of preparing, negotiating, and litigating condemnation cases under the laws of eminent domain. He was the original author of the treatise Georgia Eminent Domain, first published in 1982. He regularly represents property owners and business owners whose property or business has been taken or damaged for a public project. He has handled cases involving the condemnation of high-rise offices, regional shopping malls, restaurants, industrial property, and numerous other business and commercial properties. He also represents Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority as outside general counsel and condemnation counsel, and he has been responsible for condemnation of property for MARTA's rail program since 1974.
