Doug is nationally recognized for his expertise in the defense of citizens accused of crimes against children.  In Georgia, Doug was selected by his peers as one of the top 10 practicing criminal defense lawyers in the state by Ten Leaders Cooperative. In 2007 Doug was the recipient of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers' Reese Smith Achievement for Excellence Award, an award presented to only six lawyers in the association's 31-year history. He is the author of The Defense of the Child Molestation Case in Georgia and lectures nationally and locally to judges, lawyers, and other professionals and also organizes, moderates, and serves as keynote speaker for his annual Georgia seminar on child abuse defense. Doug is the past president of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, is AV-rated, is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
