Jane Lamberti Sams is an Atlanta equity partner at the Atlanta, Georgia, office of The Cochran Firm: Cochran, Cherry, Givens, Smith, Sistrunk and Sams, P.C. As an attorney, Ms. Sams believes in a kind touch for clients and a brutal assertiveness against defendants. Verdicts and Settlements:
- Gandy v. Devore & Jonson- 20.1 million dollar wrongful death verdict in a trucking accident. Largest verdict in the history of Clayton County and one of the largest verdicts for a female lead counsel in a personal injury case in Georgia. Have obtained numerous seven figure verdicts and settlements in complex medical malpractice actions including, but not limited to, pre-and post-natal maternal and fetal injuries and death, delay in diagnosis of breast cancer, failure to recognize surgical complications in gynecologic, neurological, orthopedic and general surgeries, faillure to diagnose heart attacks and avoidable drug reactions and medication toxicites.
- Jahmecca Slaughter v. Children's Health Care of Atlanta - 1.7 million dollar verdict for the hospital's failure to report a positive strep culture to a nine year old patient. Jahmecca developed Rheumatic fever and damage to one of her heart valves leaving her at increased risk for valve replacement surgery as an adult. Defendant offered 400K prior to trial to settle case., 2009
- Kathryn Johnston v. City of Atlanta - 4.9 Million dollar settlelment - largest settlement amount given by the City of Atlanta for wrongful death. Atlanta police falsified affidavits and illegally entered the home of Katherine Johnston - shooting her to death and then planting drugs and coerced witnesses to cover -up their misdeeds. Lead to discovery of an unconstitutional quota policy for drug arrests in the Atlanta Police Department, 2010
