Profile

In a career that spans more than 30 years, attorney Joel O. Wooten Jr. has had a significant impact both on the families he's represented in personal injury cases and on the Georgia legal community.

Since graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1975, Mr. Wooten has served as lead counsel in numerous cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, defective pharmaceuticals, toxic torts and motor vehicle accidents. He has handled class action lawsuits, commercial litigation and environmental law cases.

Attorney Wooten is admitted to practice in Georgia state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court.

He has been listed as a Georgia Super Lawyer every year since 2007. He holds an AV Preeminent rating in the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system. He was the 2007 recipient of GreenLaw's Doremus Award for Excellence in Environmental Law and a 2000 recipient of the State Bar of Georgia Tradition of Excellence Award. Mr. Wooten is a fellow of the Lawyers Foundation of Georgia and is listed in "Who's Who in American Law."
