Scott is a business lawyer who has practiced in Atlanta since 1979. Scott's practice includes representing clients in a broad range of commercial transactions, including the formation and governance of partnerships and other corporate entities. His areas of expertise include secured transactions, the sale, leasing, and development of real estate, and the sale and acquisition of ongoing business ventures. His corporate clients include businesses primarily located in Georgia, but also include businesses situated throughout the United States and Europe. Scott is active in Legal Netlink Alliance, a professional association of law firms located in 37 states, the District of Columbia, and over 20 countries worldwide. He also serves as co-chair of the Managing Partners Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association. Scott speaks and writes on the subject of Alternative Fee Arrangements for the corporate client, including presentations at the Legal Netlink Alliance Summer meeting in Atlanta in 2009 and the European Summer meeting in Porto, Portugal in June of 2010. Scott served as a presenter at the American Conference Institute's "Reducing Legal Costs" conference in Philadelphia in 2009, at the 4th National Forum on Reducing Legal Costs in March of 2010 in Dallas, Texas, at the 5th National Forum held in October of 2010 in Philadelphia, and is slated to appear again this year at the 6th National Forum in Philadelphia. Scott spoke on Alternative Fee Arrangements at the Legal Marketers' Association annual meeting in Orlando in 2011.
